Tamara Johanning

Tammy is a very deserving of the DAISY award. She is the nurse on the floor that never brings attention to herself but does her job quietly without expectation of recognition. Her patients are always well taken care of and she is a mentor to new nurses on the unit. She goes above and beyond to make sure that patients’ and their families are comfortable and understand the care they are receiving and why.

She makes the time and goes the extra mile.  It doesn't matter if it is her patient or not, if she knows there is something that needs to be done, she does it without being asked. The unit runs smoothly when she is working. When nurses float to our unit, she is one of the first to introduce herself and lets them know she is available for them and to show them where things are at any time.

Her knowledge and experience are second to none and she guides new nurses to learn how to critically think on their own. She is a great asset to Baylor and truly exemplifies the caring attitude and exceptional care that we all strive to give.
