Tara Mayberry, RN, from the Hackley Campus Emergency Department is the DAISY Award winner for December 2011. Lori Neumann, RN, nominated Tara for the award for her outstanding care and concern for our patients and their families.

Lori shared that “Tara is a Hackley Campus ER nurse who performs exams on CSC (criminal sexual conduct) cases that come in. She is on call 24/7 for this. Recently, I triaged a child who had been assaulted and Tara was the nurse who did the exam. She is so compassionate and caring with patients and their families. She follows through to make sure these victims receive the care needed to recover from the trauma. Tara also appears in court for testimonies. I have seen the emotions these cases can bring and Tara is professional, caring, and sensitive to their needs.
