Travis Smith

Travis Smith was nominated for the DAISY Award by a former patient he cared for.  In his nomination, the patient stated,

“I arrived at Saint Luke’s in need of a heart transplant.  I had been at another hospital for 5 days and was very sick.  Travis immediately assured me that I was in the best place I could be and that he would stay near me all night to make sure I was okay.  My condition was not good and it ended up being a very long night.  Travis never lost focus on my concerns or condition.  He took extra effort to make my family feel more at ease.  Around 6am my condition became critical and code blue was announced over head.  I don’t remember much through it, but I do remember when I could focus in on my surroundings I could see and hear Travis and the code team reassuring me and my parents.  I will never forget his kindness and will always be thankful for his skills.”
