Yu-Rue Luo

Nurse Yu-Rue has been working at the Yi Zen hospital for 13 years.  For the past 10 years she has been a home care nurse and she has always loved her work, especially the special bond that she has build with her home bound patients.  Because she is nosy, detailed and persistent by nature, she finds home care nursing tireless and very suitable for her. She always has great interaction with her patients and gains their trust with and the one of their families.

One of the more memorable incidents among her patients was a 32 year young man with right CVA. His family could not understand why their son could suffer a stroke at such a young age. It was not until nurse Yu-Rue did a thorough family history assessment that she realized that all the members of that family, including parents and siblings all have severe hypertension problem. As a result, Nurse Yu-Rue was able to convince the family to seek care from cardiologist, and now every member of the family has well controlled blood pressure.  Yu-Rue is now being treated like a member of the family; they now not only consult her for suggestions about medical needs, but also on other family matters such as financial concerns, children’s education and in laws problems.  It is obvious that the family trusts her.  She not only provided professional care to the patient but also extended her care to the entire family. It is this kind of accomplishment that made her realize that her job provides her a sense of purpose by making a difference for someone and doing worthwhile work every day.

This is just one of many examples of Nurse Yu- Rue’s extraordinary dedication to her work.  She has consistently demonstrated the Min- Sheng health system’s core value “HOPES”.
