Extraordinary Sponsors
National Sponsors
We are very proud that the following companies share our passion for the work nurses do every day and demonstrate their commitment to our work by generously supporting The DAISY Foundation with a significant national donation.
Cinnabon® has been with us from the beginning, contributing untold thousands of their very delicious cinnamon rolls that are a big part of every DAISY Award presentation. Thanks to the leadership of Cinnabon executives and the generosity of the company's franchise partners, Cinnabon has been DAISY’s Premier Sponsor for over a decade.. Participating Cinnabon franchise bakeries and the company donate the Cinnabon cinnamon rolls for hospitals in their area, and during Nurses Week, all nurses are invited to enjoy a free Cinnabon cinnamon roll at participating bakeries. We are very proud to have Cinnabon’s involvement and deep support.
We are proud of our new relationship with API Healthcare, the leading healthcare workforce management technology provider. The synergy with DAISY is truly compelling: Every day, API Healthcare’s workforce management solutions connect patients and nurses with each other. During the course of a relationship between a patient and a nurse, or a nurse and a patient’s family, remarkable and life-changing interactions occur. We at DAISY experienced these life-changing interactions during Patrick’s hospitalization, leading to the creation of The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Thank you, API Healthcare, for knowing that the relationships your solutions begin have the potential for so much depth and humanity. We are proud to work with you, knowing your focus is to empower staff through innovative tools that help improve employee morale and quality of care.

We suspect that every nurse is familiar with Cherokee’s great quality, beautifully-designed scrubs, shoes, and accessories for nurses. And if you are looking for daisy scrubs, please go to www.cherokeeuniforms.com,and see all their wonderful designs. One reason Cherokee’s apparel is so outstanding is because this is a company that shares our passion for the work nurses do, and its management supports the nursing profession vigorously.
Cherokee helps DAISY provide each of our DAISY Award participants with copies of the lifestyle magazine for nurses, Scrubs. Written for and about nurses, Scrubs covers a broad range of lifestyle topics including beauty, money, style, health, and wellness. We are happy to share this excellent resource with our DAISY Award Partners.
The friendship and support of this remarkable interactive patient care system has grown over the years we’ve known each other. GetWellNetwork (www.getwellnetwork.com) provides patients with valuable education, entertainment, and communication tools via their in-room television monitors. Moreover, the system gives patients the ability to nominate their nurses for The DAISY Award. Hospitals that have both GetWellNetwork and The DAISY Award have seen a significant increase in their patient nominations, telling very touching stories of the care they've received. Says Jan Bingle, Chief Nursing Officer of Community Health Network in Indianapolis, “We are proud to be among the hospitals participating in The DAISY Award program. Nurses are heroes every day, and it's important that they know their work is highly valued. The combination of GetWellNetwork and the DAISY Foundation provides an easy way for patients to nominate compassionate nurses. We consistently see several nominations every day. “
GetWellNetwork also supports the introduction of The DAISY Award to their growing roster of hospital clients, and we are very grateful for this partnership.
Hill-Rom, a leading hospital equipment supplier, is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of patients and those who care for them. Their hospital beds are just one of the many innovative products that help improve the delivery of patient care. Every day, hundreds of Hill-Rom clinicians and innovators work to bring together the best in people, process and technology. The company is committed to providing nurses with the tools and support they need to deliver high quality care. So we are very proud that Hill-Rom sees it fitting to sponsor the work of the DAISY Foundation, honoring and recognizing the difference nurses make every day in the lives of patients, families, and the health of our communities.
Kimberly-Clark - We often hear from DAISY Partners that their Award presentations are very emotional, and they need Kleenex for the DAISY Nurse and everyone else in attendance. So we approached Kimberly-Clark and asked if they would donate Kleenex pocket packs for every DAISY Award presentation. Their response was immediate and generous! Now, in addition to all the gifts we provide DAISY Nurses and their colleagues, we are proud to send our participants special DAISY Kleenex packs for use during their DAISY Award presentations. A warm thank you to Kimberly-Clark! Please check out the company’s initiative to prevent healthcare-associated infections at www.haiwatch.com. We are proud to link to this resource for free education, collateral and supplies to help keep healthcare organizations aware of the importance of healthcare associated infection prevention.
The National Institutes of Health Federal Credit Union (NIHFCU) is one of the largest credit unions in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and the nation’s largest serving the healthcare and biomedical industries. The credit union's sensitivity to the role and importance of nurses in healthcare today and in the future resonates with DAISY’s mission. NIHFCU, a not-for-profit financial cooperative created in 1940 by NIH employees, is clearly committed to serving its members and potential members, many of whom are hardworking nurses. These nurses, like all biomedical and healthcare professionals in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, have access to NIHFCU’s array of affordable loans and convenient banking solutions that save both time and money. We hope the nurse-owners are proud of NIHFCU’s initiative to support The DAISY Foundation!
Special Companies and Friends
Upon hearing about The DAISY Award, the following understood the powerful emotional impact this Award has on its recipients and the thousands of people who experience its presentation. Each of these Corporate Sponsors brings something very special to our presentations:
Have you ever wondered what makes those Cinnabon cinnamon rolls smell so good? One important factor is the cinnamon. Cinnabon partners with Kerry Group, a world leader in food ingredients and flavors, to provide a very special grade of cinnamon. Its aroma is so pleasing it makes Cinnabon rolls the best-smelling reminder of why nurses make such a difference in their patients’ lives – a statement we make at every DAISY Award presentation. We are so grateful to Kerry for donating jars of Cinnabon’s exclusive Makara Cinnamon. This gift enables our Cinnabon story to come to life in hospitals where Cinnabon does not have a bakery. We call the cinnamon “DAISY Dust.”
NurseWeek/Nursing Spectrum, Nurse.com do a wonderful job serving the nursing profession with nurse and education. How proud we are to partner with them as they feature DAISY Award honorees. One of our goals has been to provide DAISY Nurses with national publicity, and this was the perfect way to do it.
Psychological Associates is a firm of behavioral scientists who apply behavioral science principles to the work place to improve staff performance. Their fifty years of experience has proven that increasing synergy, collaboration, candor, and trust to business practices/strategies leads to better business outcomes. In their health care practice, PA offers a variety of services to create and sustain a healthy work environment, developing leaders “from the bedside to the boardroom.” PA’s health care team members have worked in hospitals for many years as physicians, nurses and administrators.
PA is responsible for the literature review about Meaningful Recognition and a special study on the impact of The DAISY Award, all donated to DAISY to help us understand the impact recognition in general and our program specifically has on nurses’ workplace and commitment to their work and colleagues. Our profound gratitude to Dr. Cindy Lefton, RN, PhD, Rick Breugger, M.A., and Suzanne Kern for their fine work.
Salesforce.com - Managing the growth of The DAISY Award had become a real challenge as the number of participating hospitals exceeded 200, our contact list grew exponentially, our communications needs became more complex, and AONE offered to help us expand the program even further. We knew we needed to find a more efficient, technology-based method of being responsive to all the hospitals that are interested in The DAISY Award and for handling the program’s numerous details. We found the perfect tool in Salesforce.com, a web-based customer relationship management service. How fortunate we are that the company’s vision includes using its people, technology, and relationships to help benefit communities. Our profound gratitude to the Salesforce.com Foundation for donating this extraordinary service to DAISY.
One of the nation’s largest employers of nurses, UnitedHealthcare® fully understands nurses’ key role in healthcare and the effects of the nursing shortage. This is one example of the company’s commitment to the delivery of quality care and its continual improvement. Not only does the company generously sponsor many DAISY Award programs, it also provides a public relations person and professional photographer to arrange press events at their sponsored hospitals. These events are inspiring for the nursing staffs, and the media coverage generated in the community helps promote the hospital’s nursing excellence and compassionate. How fortunate we and our DAISY Partners are to have this depth of involvement that has helped us expand The DAISY Award to more and more medical centers!
Wellington Vineyards - Winemaker Peter Wellington has been a tremendous help in our fundraising activities. He donates his outstanding winemaking gifts to DAISY, crafting our DAISY Block Syrah each year from grapes donated by DAISY co-founders Bonnie and Mark Barnes. If you would like a case of this outstanding wine (helping DAISY while you enjoy it), please contact us.
Wells Fargo - No matter how big a bank Wells Fargo is, it is an active partner of every community it serves. That's why it is recognized as among the best corporate citizens in the country! We are delighted to have Wells Fargo's sponsorship of several hospitals in Southern California.
