During Hurricane Harvey 2A Orth/Rehab had a young family in who had lost everything they had, including their car. The husband was bringing his wife to the hospital because she was having seizures when the car stalled out on the way. They had three small children ages, three, five and six years old. A team of employees including a few doctors got the children a warm breakfast on that Monday morning and collected $228.00 which they gave the family along with a card to encourage them through this tough time. They had asked nothing of the team except for a bible, which when they entered the room the husband was reading to the wife. Their eyes filled with tears as they expressed their gratitude and prayed with the team. One employee also donated clothes that she had in her car for the children, and had her husband bring a pair of shoes for the patient’s husband.
Cindy Bonette Durand was so touched by the willingness and kindness of everyone who was working that day, and who kept giving and giving. She writes that it could have easily been any one of us and our families. She thanks God for the kindness and giving hearts of the 2A Ortho/Rehab Harvey Helpers and writes, You Rock 2A Family!
