Aimee goes above and beyond the duties of being a nurse, demonstrating that nursing is a calling. Aimee was my firstborn daughter's primary nurse in 2012. She was born at 31 weeks and spent 6 weeks in NICU at SMCA. Aimee has such love and compassion, taking time for the details that provide comfort in a most stressful situation. For example, Aimee arranged to grant my request to be moved near a window. So when my second daughter, born June 12, 2014, needed to go to NICU, I was devastated initially but when Aimee showed up with the bassinet, my fears were greatly relieved. Aimee stayed late after her shift should have ended to admit my daughter to the NICU, knowing how much this would comfort me. Throughout my daughter's NICU stay that week, Aimee took time to check on us and my daughter, though she was not directly assigned to take care of her. Aimee demonstrates care and compassion, taking care of her patients not just as patients, but as you would care for your own loved ones.
