Alex currently works as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit providing direct patient care. He is also is a Rapid Response Liaison Team Member, rounding proactively to ensure that all patients at the Fontana Medical Center receive the best care possible.
Alex has been described as a real go getter. He is very motivated and always goes above and beyond. He is an excellent Registered Nurse.
Alex was nominated for this award by another Registered Nurse that works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She observed Alex going above and beyond for two of his very special patients:
It warms my heart to see a nurse show compassion for their patients. Alex Corpus from adult ICU - 2 north provides compassionate care to his patients. On March 3, when he cared for a 21 year old autistic young lady, he came to the PICU to find stickers, a sticker book and a game for her to play with and crayons/coloring pages. On another occasion when Alex was caring for an elderly woman with Alzheimers, he again went out of his way, to obtain puzzles, word search, and coloring pages with crayons to ensure that she had a great experience. Alex has gone out of his way to show care and compassion to his patients. I admire his sensitivity to these types of patients who have special needs. He demonstrates the true art of being human.
Alex is Professional, provides Excellent and Compassionate Care, with Integrity, always utilizing Teamwork and keeps the Patient in the Center of everything he does.
