My mother finds herself in Interventional Radiology more often these days with her illness. When it first started she used to be afraid of it, dreading the procedure. Now it has become a more comfortable experience thanks to the nurses and doctors in Interventional Radiology. One nurse I would like to thank the most is Amanda Cieri. Thanks to the time Amanda spends with my mother, talking to her and getting to know her, my mother doesn't feel like she's surrounded by strangers when she goes in every other week. Instead she is welcomed by a good friend, who she knows will help take good care of her. Amanda has taken a huge weight off the family as well. Before, my mother would fight us, too scared and nervous to go to the procedure. After befriending Amanda, there was a world of difference. My mother is no longer scared or as nervous as she was before about going. It has made it a lot easier to take my mother to get the care she needs. I can't thank Amanda enough for being patient and taking the time to get to know my mother when my mother was scared and nervous. My mother feels relaxed now when she knows Amanda will be at her side before, during, and after the procedure.
