My son, C, came into the ER on a Tuesday around lunch time and by 3 am Wednesday he was on life support. This all started around the 2nd week of December and he is still fighting. When he got moved to 9 SICU he had wonderful nurses. But I, as a mother, can never thank Amy enough for the extra special care and attention she gave my son, me and my entire family. She gave C such encouragement and as a mom I felt he would be okay when she was there with him. She prayed for my child as she would for her own. To this day she checks in and keeps updated on his progress at his Rehab facility. She will always be a part of our lives.

My God son is a 22-year-old young man who was as healthy as a horse. Then suddenly one Tuesday morning he complained of his hands being weak. By lunch time his speech was slurred and he couldn't hold his tools. So he came to the ED at CRMH. Unsure of what was wrong he was admitted and by 3 am the next day he was on life support in the ICU. A few days later he was moved to 9 SICU where Amy cared for him mind, body and soul. She engaged his young 5-year-old son in his care and made him feel less scared to visit his daddy in the hospital. She talked to C and not at him (even when he couldn't reply).

Amy was one of the many great nurses who cared for my nephew as he fought for his life. Amy was so kind, caring and gentle. She not only supported C but his whole family. She knew how scared we all were and she let us know it was okay to be scared as she was too, but that we needed to have faith. Her faith made ours even greater. She supported C and his little 5-year-old son. She kept C included in his care as much as possible and learned his communication tactics as he couldn't speak or use his extremities, only his fingers, toes and eye lids. She cared for him like her own child and kept us-his family informed all the way. We can never thank her enough for her care and her love. Amy Rocks!
