A stay in the NICU can be some of the worst days of a parent's life. The uncertainty of your child's health, not being familiar with your surroundings, and having none of the comforts of home. Many of the nurses, practitioners, clinical leaders, and doctors played an important role in our stay. That being said, Angie stuck out head and shoulders above the rest. Angie not only cared for our children like they were her own but she made sure to go out of her way to comfort my wife and me. I had never met Angie before I stepped into the NICU with our twins but she will now be a part of our lives forever. Angie is now a member of our family. I will forever be grateful to Angie and the staff at the NICU. They came in every single day with a selfless attitude and with one goal and that was to keep our babies alive and to make them thrive. Words could never express our gratitude for that type of servant leadership. Angie took one of the darkest times in our lives and made it to where we didn't even want to leave because we were at such a comfort level. I implore all personnel in the medical profession to take on the attitude and work ethic of Angie. If everyone would be like Angie, this world would be a better place. We are now better people because of our stay at the NICU and because of the care we received from wonderful people like Angie.
