I am a 42-year-old physician who has never been sick enough to be hospitalized until now. It's a very different and uncomfortable position for me being the patient rather than the doctor. I am a hospital physician in the United States. I round on my patients daily and at the end of the day, I feel like I've done good for my patients. Because of Angie, I now realize how important the nurse's role is in making/helping the patient feel more comfortable, less apprehensive and more hopeful about getting better. Angie always entered my room very courteously, always had a smile. She is sincere in her care and I felt that she was rooting for me to get better. I am the med-tele director at my hospital and I give lectures to the nurses. I will tell them about my experience and my new found respect and appreciation of the work they do and how important they are in the well-being of our patients. I would trust Angie with my life or the life of anyone in my family.
Note: This is Angie's 2nd DAISY Award!
