Angie is the best! My Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in November. Two days later, he was admitted to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital due to excruciating pain in his leg. The cancer had spread to his bones. My Dad spent a week at NEA before he was moved to Flo & Phil where he died the following day. We met Angie the very first day we were at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital and immediately fell in love with her; she was so good with my Dad.
My Dad hated being sick, medicine, needles and most of all, hospitals. She was patient and kind to him. She explained everything she was doing and the medicines she was giving him. Outside of our Dad's room, she was helping us deal with what was happening to our Dad. She explained what was happening and what was going to happen. She hugged us and cried right along with us. Although she was very busy, she gave us the time we needed. My Dad trusted her and asked for her often and was disappointed when he found out she was off work. She would always stop in to see him when she returned and always had a hug for him. Whenever we had an issue or problem with my Dad's care, she would immediately help rectify it.
I'm not the greatest writer and know this doesn't do Angie justice, but I would like everyone to know how thankful this family is that Angie was there for us and our Dad throughout his last days. I felt better when she was with him because I knew he was in good hands.
Special Note: The family was able to join us at the celebration which made the ceremony all that more special to Angela.
