Angie is an excellent nurse in many ways. Angie makes sure her patients are taken care of above and beyond expectations. Angie is able to communicate with physicians and family members in a harmonious way with a collaborative approach to her patients care. For every patient, Angie bathes them and makes sure they have clean bedding and a clean gown throughout her shift. Angie washes their hair and shaves her patient if appropriate. Angie feeds her patients if necessary and takes time away from her lunch and breaks to make sure her patients get whatever they need. Angie brings in presents and "favorite foods" to patients on the Unit. One time, Angie had a birthday party for her patient and bought balloons, presents, and a cake. She also had everyone on the Unit sing Happy Birthday to the patient. The patient was so happy he cried. He had been on the Unit for a long time and no family members had visited him. On another occasion, Angie had also taken time out of her personal life to make sure a patient followed up with his surgeon and also took him to his appointment. Angie bought him clothes as well. He did not have any family in town. Angie also took him for a second surgery in which she waited in the waiting room for him for 12 hours. The patient stated he would not have had the second surgery if Angie would not have taken him or stayed and waited for him. Angie loves her patients. She is an excellent nurse and puts forth every effort to ensure safety and care of her patients. Angie also goes out of her way to help teach new nurses on the Unit. She helps everyone in need whether they are a patient, family member, physician, housekeeper, another nurse, etc.
