I first met Ann in March 2013 and I am still in her company in 2017! We meet her and the spinal team when my child came in for corrective scoliosis treatment. My child is disabled and has learning difficulties which create challenging behaviour. Unfortunately, things went very wrong for her and our 2 weeks lasted 4 months. We are currently in the QMC now. We have been here for 3 months. In all our lengthy visits including this time, Ann has shown over a period of time outstanding commitment and dedication to her patient and families. She is so focused on all the elements of care, support, and treatment that are required. My daughter can be psychologically a challenge but Ann is able to reduce her anxiety just by singing the QMC post code.
Ann treats all her patients as individuals with meaningful care and always emphasizes freedom of choice. Ann is so upbeat never negative, she has a beautiful positive attitude, non-judgemental and her confidence in her own nursing skills puts everyone in a state of ease, including at times surgeons she works for, as they always refer back to 'What Ann will decide'. The team of spinal surgeons would be lost without her and support as she is the 'spine' of that team holding them together.
