My father was admitted into the hospital and Anna was so kind to us. Answering any questions, checking in on us frequently at all hours. Even if she wasn't on our rotation she would still come by our room just to say hi and check in. Anna allowed my father to take his time when it came to going to the bathroom or if he needed to have his bed changed because of an accident. She gave him time and respect. When I was the most fearful of losing my father as I received many stressful diagnoses Anna shared with us about her personal stories. She shared about her own with illness and general stories of her life. I felt a kinship with her as if she were a good friend whom I could trust. I really appreciated that she shared with us from her own personal experience and continued to look in on us. If she happened to see us around the hospital she would call out my name and say "hello". If we happened to be in the cafeteria she would even spend a few moments talking to us (my husband and myself). It really made a difference for me. I am grateful she was such a kind and caring soul. It really is nice to hear from others that I am/was doing right by my father and that although he may not have much time left Anna empathized with me.
