Ann Mathiews was selected to be my home care service provider upon my release from the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. I had been hospitalized due to an infection that required IV antibiotics. Upon my release from the hospital, I needed to continue the IV antibiotics at home for several weeks. The very thought of self- infusion was daunting. When Ann made her initial visit she readily perceived my apprehension. Ann then TOOK THE EXTRA TIME to discuss the process and address my concerns. After our introductory chat, I felt confident in proceeding with the technical aspects of the process. Ann instructed me on all of the required steps and guided me through the entire process. She formulated a custom daily checklist for my infusion so that I could be absolutely sure that I had covered all of the necessary steps. Ann is a seasoned health care professional who communicated all aspects of the process and guided me from start to successful completion. Ann's coordination with my other health care providers was outstanding. I recommend Ann Mathiews for the DAISY award for extraordinary nurses.

Ann Mathiews is a very gentle, thoughtful and caring person who's not afraid to share her knowledge. She put me very much at ease and I was very comfortable with her. She recommended changes in my diet that are helping me to heal faster. She shared how to care for a wound pump with my care givers, one LPN and one a retired RN, with qualms. When I had a really bad weekend with nausea she coordinated everything with my doctors and got a resolution. She is very friendly and kind and the whole family loves her.

Every nurse should be so great. It was an HONOR TO HAVE HER AS MY NURSE. She didn't just care about my present care, but she made me aware of an alert system that will be great help afterwards when I go back to living alone.
