We nominate Ariel for the DAISY Award for her compassionate and skillful handling of our baby girl during our stay at the NICU. My wife delivered a beautiful baby girl at the WPMH. Within a few hours, we realized something was not right and were moved to the NICU at FHFC. All we knew was that the baby was stable but had no clue about the root cause of her issues. All the nurses were outstanding in their skills, confident when asked questions, and understood a parent's frustration and helplessness. Ariel stood out in many ways. She was diligent with the procedures, always answering questions, having a positive mindset and always having a smile on her face.
Our baby girl had to undergo many tests and blood work every day. It was really hard on her, and on us too watch her go through it all. Ariel was comforting in many ways. She would talk to us and explain to us what tests are being done and why; she would make it a point to be quick as to provide minimum discomfort to our already suffering child. She'd always pacify our baby and surround her with a feeling of warmth. Every time we saw her, we knew that our baby was in good hands. Ariel brought into the room a sense of relief and positivity with just her attitude. She never grew tired of our questions/concerns and always addressed each one with a smile on her face. A nurse's job is hard and needs a lot of patience. We are very grateful for the care our daughter received here.
