Arna has been a nurse for over 34 years and touched many people's lives with her dedication and compassion. She is kind to her colleagues and cares for her patients' outcomes. Here is one to share:

A patient was transferred from ICU to 4E approximately 1 hour before the incident occurred. Upon transfer, the patient was stable. At approximately 14:30, Arna noticed that the patient was in VTach but was unable to find the patient in the room via the camera. Arna called the floor and the bedside nurse found the patient in the bathroom sitting on the toilet. The patient said she felt OK but presented with shortness of breath, diaphoresis, and said she felt like her heart was racing. The monitor confirmed VTach with HR >200. Arna initiated the Code Blue and stayed focused on the patient until the patient was stabilized by the bedside Code team. Patient's HR slowed but continued to present unstable HR from 50s - 150s. The patient was transferred back to ICU for a higher level of care.

Arna's quick and excellent collaboration with the bedside team for positive patient outcome truly impressed the bedside nurses and they wished to make sure Arna was recognized for her continued compassion for safe patient outcomes throughout her nursing career both as a bedside nurse and a Telehealth nurse providing services and care for her patients remotely.

We are honored to present the very first Telehealth DAISY Award to Arna, our nursing colleague who has touched so many patients through more than 34 years of nursing.
