My 86 year old uncle was in the MSICU recently for emergent gallbladder surgery and Brett was his nurse. He was above and beyond compassionate. He spent an extra-extra amount of time on a very busy day trying to keep my confused, agitated uncle calm. I also had trouble getting through on the phone extension to that unit. Two days in a row, Brett took the extra time to check with the operator and had another nurse try on his cell phone to get through (which he was unable to do). So, Brett found that they would be moving my uncle and made sure I had at least three or four extensions to that unit so I could check on my uncle as I work during the day. He also was in and out of the room many times to be sure my uncle had extra juice, milk, Ensure and rounded him up toothpaste and Polygrip. He is a wonderful nurse and walked over to the new unit and helped transfer him to his new bed and stayed till he met his new nurse and assured him he was going to be safe and taken care of. He was so polite, reassuring, and an excellent caregiver and I thank God he was there the day my uncle needed all of these things because Brett truly delivered.
