Carol Blehi was nominated for her strong work ethic and sincere compassion towards her patients and co-workers. She provides exemplary care and serves as a role model to new nurses striving them to be the best nurses that they can be and to treat their patients with the same high-level of care that she does. Carol helps new nurses to see what makes the nursing profession so special.

Her nominator says, “As a new nurse, having Carol as a preceptor taught me to seek what needs to be done instead of waiting to be told. Never one to waste time, she diligently works with every free moment to tidy our department and make it a better place to work and more accommodating for our patients. I can only hope that nurses take from Carol what I learned from her.”

Carol always puts her patients’ needs before her own. Recently, she willingly stayed beyond her scheduled 12 hour shift to facilitate urgent needs for a septic patient to proceed with surgery. Had she not stayed to support this procedure, the patient would have had to wait longer.

Overall, Carol Blehi demonstrates a strong work ethic and her sincere compassion makes her a valuable resource to all of her co-workers and patients.
