Carrie is a nurse who is super accountable for doing what is right for kids. She works mostly night shift which on our floor, most of the time there is not management staff or doctors here. Carrie is always a nurse that makes sure she provides excellent care and in the morning rounds with the different medical teams she is one of the few nurses who actually makes sure she rounds with them to be able to communicate the plan to the day nurses when they come on to their shift. Carrie makes sure that before she leaves her shift that all of her patients are taken care of and all the orders are carried out from during her shift. I would follow care for patients any day behind Carrie because I know that the patient/families would have been well taken care of and that each patient’s care would be organized.
Carrie is also super compassionate and provides the best care possible always. Carrie is one of those individuals where even if she was having a bad personal day, coworkers/patients/or families would never know it because of how she separates it from her care/work. She may be quiet but Carrie is definitely a leader on the floor for her attitude and ambition.
Carrie is such a great team player and is one that always communicates with respect and dignity for others. On days where I am able to work the same shift as her I know it’s going to be a good day due to the teamwork and communication working with her allows. She is one who consistently helps answer call lights, answer phone, gets beeps even if it is not for her patient. She also is one that when asked for help never acts like it is putting her out or that she is frustrated by the request. She is always positive and helpful which I believe is good for the morale on the floor.
I think that Carrie deserves to be recognized for the simple fact that I think she gets over looked some times because she is quiet and not one to put herself out there to be recognized. She shows up with a smile on her face, caring for the patients and their families, making it an enjoyable experience. Anyone who works with Carrie would agree she is a joy to work with and one that deserves to be recognized for her care and leadership.
