On a Saturday night during shift change, an uncalled overhead code was paged. The physician care team was present at the patient's bedside but requested additional assistance. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit, 8 West was called. When Casey arrived to assist, "it was like the heavens had opened and an angel had been sent". Casey immediately jumped in, putting her critical care skills to work and guided the team with what needed to be done. With Casey's expert knowledge and skills, the patient was stabilized and transferred for continued monitoring.
