My son came to the hospital from a drug overdose. Chelsea was one of his nurses during his first few days. She was training another nurse at the time and always took the time to explain everything they were doing to care for my son. This isn't just a job for Chelsea, it is a calling. She is competent, an excellent role model for the nurse in training, and most of all, she is compassionate. Chelsea never sugar coated anything to me and was always honest and compassionate in doing so. She is an amazing nurse, and I will never forget her.

A patient came to CCU after an overdose. Chelsea cared for this patient and his family during the first couple of days. The family commented about how professional and compassionate Chelsea was, keeping them informed and caring for their son with gentle kindness. We eventually began the organ donation process. The patient was deemed unable to donate. On the day it was decided to withdraw care, Chelsea came to the hospital to be with the family. She needed them to know what a great mother and family our patient had.
Although the patient was not able to be an organ donor, an organ donation flag raising ceremony was still conducted as a Donation in Spirit.
