I had a cardiac ablation earlier this week and developed some complications. The pseudoaneurysm was serious and painful and caused me to be readmitted. Cherisse treated me with respect. She was kind to me, empathetic to my situation and tried hard to work with me. I had issues with pain that the previous nurses were unable to get under control. Cherisse made a contract with me and we worked together to get my pain under control.
I also had trouble sleeping as the bed was very uncomfortable. Cherisse made some calls and was able to get me something to help me sleep. I really felt like Cherisse was focused on my well-being. She was a role model of what all nurses should aspire to be. When I was frustrated, she was kind and empathic. She listened to me and truly tried to make my stay better. Cherisse made the hospital a better place to be. I felt supported and believed I had an ally. I trusted her and if she asked me to do something, I would do it. She had my back! I am glad I was readmitted because I got to meet Cherisse. Boswell is lucky to have her!
