My mom was admitted to the palliative care unit. It was horribly sad for our family. Knowing what was going to happen, but not understanding everything that was going to happen.
Cheryl was my mom's nurse numerous shifts during her 7 days at palliative care. She was so very compassionate to my mom and our whole family. She explained many things to us, concerning Mom's care and what she would be doing in the following days. Cheryl's concern for my mom made us feel safe every time we left her room.
During the weekend, we wanted to take family pictures. With Cheryl's help, advice and care we were able to get Mom dressed and got her family of 26 to take beautiful family pictures that we will cherish forever. Mom was so happy and grateful!
Cheryl gave her wisdom and advice to us as a family, which gave us so much help at this sad and difficult time. She hugged us all at the end of her shift and told us how much she enjoyed caring for our wonderful mother. People who love their jobs are not easy to find, but I am so sure Cheryl enjoys her job because she is such a great nurse.
