A patient came to the ED at 1830, almost change of shift. Christine was his primary RN. He had been in home hospice but came to us actively dying. Christine stayed by his side, rubbing his back and doing whatever she could to bring him comfort. Despite the shift ending, she stayed with this patient and did her best to comfort him in his last moments of life. He will never be able to express what her kind, compassionate touch meant to him in his last moments, but I would like to express that to her now. That is why I think she is a true DAISY Nurse.

My wife was admitted to your ER for a fever, one day after a kidney stone procedure. She unexpectedly developed sepsis, losing her mental and physical abilities, and I know her life was in danger. Christine quickly acted to control the dangerous situation, working fast to restore IVs, maintain oxygen and medications, which eventually brought my wife back to consciousness. Her quick action and command of the situation, and her genuine care while doing it, I contend saved my wife's life. For that, I am eternally grateful to Christine and respect her professionalism and her genuine kind and loving care.
