A patient came to the ED with a horrible rash that was itching so intensely that it was making the patient feel quite crazy. The patient came back the next day, still in misery, and unable to afford the medications she needed to cure her problem. Christy called the pharmacy to see how much the medications would cost, and then gave the patient the money to pay for it from the ED's emergency fund. The patient later called and told Christy that she truly saved her sanity, and she made a huge difference in her life. Christy demonstrates her strong faith in everything she does and she sets a wonderful example for all our staff to follow.
