Cindy had two separate DAISY Award nominations. Her first nominator describes Cindy as a very hardworking and compassionate person. She encourages the ER department. When times get rough, she handles it with such grace— never forgetting to respect patients with worth, dignity and value. She strives to make everyone feel special even when we have had a hard night. She is a special person.

Her second nominator was a colleague who has been with TMH for only 20 months. Since then it has been very easy to see Cindy as a shining star in the department. She is a team player, always willing to help out anyone in the department whether it an RN, MD, PCA or housekeeper. She goes above and beyond her call of duty. For example, there can be 25 to 30 people waiting in the waiting room pending treatment and she will put patients in "virtual beds" and start treatment while maintaining pts confidentiality and decreasing the wait time of our patients which in return increases patient satisfaction. These patients are treated with the utmost respect, dignity and compassion. She really loves what she does and it shows in her work. She doesn't contribute to problems, she solves them. Everyone looks up to her and respects her immensely.

Whenever Cindy is working, you know that whatever happens on your shift, your patients and staff will be taken care of. She has a positive attitude and that spreads like wildfire through our staff. She is fair and unbiased. She is active in committees; she works on projects for the director as needed. Cindy is who all nurses want to be like. She reminds us all of why we became a nurse to begin with. You can always count on Cindy to show up and be ready to work. She just took her CEN and passed while going to school for her master’s degree, not to mention having young children at home. She is an asset to our department and to our facility!
