Claire is super compassionate. She takes the time to explain things. Yesterday was a tough day because I thought I was here for heart issues, but I learned I had a stroke. This left me shocked and confused and a bit disoriented. But Claire helped so much by going out of her way to get to know me better. She was just so patient with me and very competent in her profession.

I'm a person of control. When there is a problem, I fix it. I'm used to taking care of others rather than having others taking care of me. So being in the hospital 11 days was nerve-wracking. A few things I want in a nurse: kindness, cleanliness, thorough communication, confidence in their work, empathy, and leadership. Claire knocked every one of these items out of the park beautifully! At least 8 of my visitors mentioned how great she was. Around the hospital, you have posters talking about providing excellent care. She went above and beyond what I pictured excellent care. She's an angel.

My son was in the hospital for 11 days. Many of these days Claire cared for him. She put in the extra mile. She kept a running track of his blood levels on the whiteboard. This made a huge difference. It was nice for my son not to have to ask about the level. She would just post it. She was always very friendly, very caring and attentive to his needs and concerns. The nurse is often the one to talk to the doctor and express the patient's desires and needs and she always did this. It can be scary not knowing why you are in the hospital and she was able to alleviate some of the fears for him and us. I feel she is an asset to Santa Rosa Memorial and a true DAISY Nurse.
