Cora was nominated by the wife of a former patient. She says this about Cora…

Cora is an extremely caring nurse. She was so attentive to my husband and me. Even though he was in a paralytic coma, she always told him what she was doing. When he woke she patiently and kindly told him what happened, where he was, and she did this over and over because of his short term memory loss. Every time she told him she made it seem like it was the first time.

Cora never left my sight unless she told me where she was going. What makes Cora so great is she went out of her way multiple times to explain fully not only what she was doing, but why. My husband was to be brought out of the coma early in the morning. The other nurses had told me this, but I didn’t know how. I thought they would just warm him up, pull the breathing machines and see if he would live or die. When Cora came on shift and I told her this was what I thought, she quickly let me know that it doesn’t work that way. I was so relieved.

Personally, I think Cora should be in charge of teaching all new nurses how to treat patients and their families. I have never met a kinder nurse, ever! She is very knowledgeable and willing to share information. I feel like she is not only our nurse, but our friend.

Thank you, Cora!
