My name is J, I am 34 yrs old, going to school for my Bachelor's degree in Business, have a fiance that I am supposed to be marrying in one month. Together he and I have 7 children together and on top of everything I have a lifelong kidney condition. I came in with a raging kidney infection and now am facing some of my worst fears. I am being told I have to make a lot of serious changes for me to be able to live with this condition and it is very frightening to me because I am used to taking care of everyone and everything else. Not used to having to be serious about taking care of myself. So when all these changes and decisions and everything going on while I have been sitting in this hospital bed, it had started breaking me down mentally. I would start getting anxiety and just start crying over and over unexpectedly.

Finally Ms. Cindy, who was my nurse all weekend, let me talk and boy I am sure I did talk alot. She just listened and let me get it out. She let me cry and she spoke at the right times. She made me feel like she really understood when she talked about her own self and her daughter and any related situations. She gave great suggestions and put things in a better perspective for me.

I have been hospitalized since I was 12 yrs old and have lost track of how many different procedures I have already undergone. Yes I am still uncertain of my future and very petrified of what may come and feel that every day, but just for that half hour talking with her, I felt calm and peace at least for those moments with her and I won't forget that. Thank you Ms. Cindy for thoughts, your calming suggestions and your time. You are a wonderful nurse and I will not forget you.
