Cynthia has been a champion and role-model in her area, on a day to day basis she exhibits a caring nature and extends empathy to our veterans. She is a quick thinker; she is able to make decisions quickly and put plans into action instantly which yield clinically driven positive results.

Colleagues often describe Cynthia as a "calm-spirit" conscientious nurse who has vested interest in the veterans and the well-being of others.

...

The nomination for the DAISY Award is written by a veteran she cared for. He writes,

"Cynthia Lott changed my life when she helped get my medicine back and helped me understand the importance of taking it. I was thinking of suicide and relapsing on drugs because I was not taking my medicine. Ms. Lott listened and talked to me even when I didn't want to. Later that day I restarted my medication and I felt so much better mentally. She never left my side until I felt better. Cynthia changed my life in a very real sense. Because of her, those thoughts of suicide never enter my mind now. On a day when everything went wrong, she made it right."

...

"My most favorite thing about nursing is that it allows me the opportunity to give patient centered care so I am able to cater to their specific needs. Nursing is a work of heart."
