"I want you to know I don't like hospitals and for good reasons. How about because they usually reek of sickness, depression, coldness, and people who don't want to be there. Many of which are the staff. They can make you feel like a pain in their rump. There is a certain coldness that seems to pour through the expressionless faces. The staff can look right through you making you feel alone, empty, and scared.

Well, that was my impression prior to this visit. Danielle took the time to look me in the eye, to sit with me, to feel what I was feeling. She explained my heart attack and stent in terms I understood and made me realize how fortunate I am. She made me feel secure and valued. With the love of a care giver, with the wisdom and skill of a healer, and with someone who has a heart for her patients; she inspired me to take this seriously. She is a nurse who used her medical skills and combined them with human compassion. I actually enjoyed my hospital stay and look back very fondly on the whole Audubon staff. Quite a paradigm shift."
