I was admitted for surgery. I was in this unit for 4 days with Dawn as my nurse for 3 days. After a rough start with prep before surgery, her care was wonderful. She was an absolute delight and a nice change after the start I had. It's hard to find the words to describe the amazing job she did while taking care of me. She went above and beyond to make sure I had all I needed and was comfortable. She was quick to address my needs and didn't make me wait. She made me feel valued and important. She was so caring, a good listener, always had an answer for me, and so polite and loving. Her knowledge and skills of her job made me feel safe and well taken care of. She was extraordinary in every way. She definitely demonstrated St. Vincent's core values in everything she did. She made going home hard to do. Because of nurses like this one, I recommend CHI St. Vincent's to all family, friends, and strangers. Due to this amazing staff member, I had an even better experience the second time at St. Vincent's.
