Dear Debbi,

Mere words will never be able to fully express the depth of our sincere and deep appreciation to you for the phenomenal nursing care you provided our father, John, on Monday, Nov.28th. Your willingness and determination to give him the hope and opportunity to still be able to have his cataract surgery, after demonstrating his ability to lay flat without coughing is the reason he was eventually able to actually have the surgery. If not for you, the surgery most likely would have been cancelled. It may seem like a small gesture (one and you just do because you think it is part of your job), but not everyone would have done what you did for our dad. Your compassion, empathy, and patience allowed him to have that surgery, which has already dramatically changed his quality of life (he can see again!) and given him a positive outlook again after three years of constant health challenges. You helped “restore” his hope and faith, a priceless unintended consequence of a "routine" surgery. We will never forget the difference you made in the life of our father. You are a true blessing and the epitome of what nursing is all about. Thank you so much.

Most sincerely,
The family of John
Dear Debbi,
You give so much of yourself
In the kindness you show
And the lives you touch
That’s why you deserve a heartfelt “thank you”
And a wish that all the goodness you share
comes back to you.
Thank You,
John
