Earlier this morning (12:02 AM), I admitted this patient who presented to the ER with a BP of 89/52, HR of 109 who was stabilized enough to send to the floors but became even more Hypotensive (75/39) and desaturating to 75% on 2 LNC. Deborah Barr immediately alerted me to the situation and worked with me over the next two hours in such a committed, energetic and caring manner to help save this patient's life. This patient truly needed to be upgraded to the ICU but because of my three earlier ICU admissions, that unit was full. Deborah supported me, anticipating many of my "next moves" and offered useful suggestions. I felt comfortable enough to initiate pressor support if I needed to because of her positive attitude and abilities. Luckily we did not need to go to that extreme. I truly believe without Deborah's support, the result of this two hour critical situation would have been much worse, perhaps grave. We are all lucky to have her on our team!
