Devianna's technique is sincere and touching. You are not just a patient under her care. You can see the thoroughness that she follows as well as protocol. She has changed the dressing on my picc line several times. This is likely not a favorite task, however, Devi does not blink an eye. She understands my sensitivity and the way I have to have my dressing changed every time. This may not seem like a huge thing, but I have to wear the dressing for a week so if it is uncomfortable or wrapped with materials I have allergies to then a week of my quality of life could be ruined. Devi makes certain care that this does not happen. I can trust her to never hurt me, my skin, my line when drawing blood or placing chemo. Her approach is gentle and her technique and style is sterile and professional. Devi is at the very top of my list in her efficiency.
My personal bond with Devi came when I was in infusion and my doctors, nurse, my nurse practitioner and Devi were behind a closed curtain. They told me I would be better turning it over to Hospice. I had relapsed. It was out of control and I could just let go and stop fighting. I could have given up that day! Over a year after that conversation and I have survived six months past my prognosis. I needed the help and dedication of Devi to do this. She heard me protest that my will to live was stronger than that and she has helped push me along with extraordinary care about my well being. I look forward to being alive and going to the infusion center to see Devi who has become much more than my occasional infusion center nurse, but a lifelong friend, whatever those terms may be. To see Devi brings joy to my life in such a horrible circumstance to have met, but blessings she has brought into the infusion center.
I am almost three years since diagnosis, almost two years from transplant, a year and half past relapse and six months past prognosis. Miracles that I could have never achieved without Devi being on my team as one of my life givers. Devi still has years to further develop her wisdom in all of the world, however, I trust her wise judgment already to understand and treat me as accurately, professional and friendly as possible. I know my life is in good hands as having a friend in your nurse makes your treatment so much more bearable.
Devi goes above and beyond the requirements to create real bonds and real trust in her patients. She reaches out to them and understands and accommodates to make their lives happier and mostly healthier, a thing very important to patients with conditions like mine. My life has joy and love and even LONGEVITY, highly in part to the kind hearted soul of Devi.
