I came to the ER on Thursday evening with chest pain and abdominal pain. My blood pressure was also high and not going down. The next morning, Diana came in, smiling, stating she would be my nurse. It's actually coincidental that she was my daughter's nurse when she was here before, and she was the same great nurse. Right from the start she was kind and caring. Also very professional and understanding to my abdominal pain as well as chest discomfort. Being that I am allergic to so many medications, I needed tests ran, and she always updated me when the time drew nearer. She showed concern over my pain, and wanted it to go away, just as much as I did.
Diana went over all medications with me and explained what each was for, instead of just handing me a cup with medication. She also explained possible side effects and how they would affect me. When family came to visit, she made sure to introduce herself, and the current status of my wellbeing, even though they had met previously. She made sure that I was as comfortable as possible, given the circumstances.
Periodically, she came in to check on me; where my blood pressure was at and to see what my pain level was. I always see Dignity Health commercials about Human Kindness, and I feel Diana is a prime example of that. She meets the mission and vision of what a RN should strive for. I am so grateful to have had her as my nurse.
