What better way to celebrate your 20th year in nursing than to be awarded with the DAISY Award! Ed Nagle is the consummate team player, never letting anything be a distraction from getting the job done. He never gets frazzled even under the most stressful and even life-threatening situations.

Ed is an outstanding nurse, whose biggest concern is to do right by the patient. Many people say, “I try to treat people like I want my family treated.” Well, Ed actually does it. He has such a way with patients and families that when they come back for another procedure, it is like watching old friends get together. If they don’t see Ed when they come back, patients will ask specifically for him.

Ed has educated the public about the scope of cardiology care available here at SNHMC by doing outreach at the Community Medical School. He has been a key player in STEMI improvements over the past year and has worked on several quality improvement projects including the paralytic protocol, the STEMI Checklist, and the FFR adenosine protocol.

Nurse Nagle has continually stepped up to the plate to cover call for others when needed and even volunteered when others have had a “bad stretch” of call. He is always the first to contribute to any cause whether it is a gift for a coworker or someone fundraising for their child’s school.
