My husband was scheduled to leave today and needed a shower to feel clean from an earlier problem. Elaine went above and beyond to help undress him, take him to the shower, show me how to use it and transfer him.
She dried him off and returned him to the room to redress him and get him back in his wheelchair. This was so helpful as this was not in her normal duties and she offered to help.

Elaine went above and beyond to help out a patient and a co-worker as well. Her actions exemplify the true definition of nursing excellence. One extremely busy afternoon on the unit a patient who had an unexpected episode of incontinence wanted desperately to be showered before his discharge in one hour. On our unit showers are given on evening and night shifts in order not to interrupt therapies. But without hesitation, she stopped what she was doing. She offered to help this patient who was not even assigned to her. She makes a powerful difference in the lives of her patients and her coworkers are appreciative. She is a true Caritas warrior and DAISY Nurse!
