Farah was tasked with taking care of a child from out of state on the last night of a complex admission. The family was finally going to be able to fly home early in the morning, so she was responsible for discharging the patient at 5 am. At the beginning of her shift, she realized that the child was going home on a medication that needs to be refrigerated, and the family, being here from out of town and staying in the hospital very unexpectedly, did not have a cooler bag to transport the medication. She went above and beyond asking several units if they had any abandoned lunch bags that we could give to the family to take home. She used all her resources and was able to find one from the pediatric pharmacist. Farah made sure to give this family the peace of mind that their child's medication would be safely transported during their long trip home, so that it would be effective for her on the trip and when they arrived home. She did a really great job being the last impression the family would have of the hospital, which will surely help them have good memories of their child's great outcome from a scary illness!
