For the birth of my baby girl it was very important for me to do so naturally and to be able to stay mobile and not be stuck in the bed for the whole process. Fiona was an amazing nurse. She was more supportive than I could have imagined. As my labor progressed and the pain became more difficult to manage, I started panicking and Fiona became my lifeline; she stepped up and helped me get through each contraction. She was just amazing, and I don't think my labor would have gone as smoothly without her as my nurse and by my side, I know it wouldn't have.
This was one of the most important days of my life and I felt like Fiona was there as a caregiver and friend. She did not view me as just another patient. I can never thank her enough and I am so glad she was my labor nurse that day. I look back on that most important day and event with joy and so much of that was because of Fiona. I can never express my gratitude fully. She was more than we could have asked for in a nurse. Thank you.

Fiona is the reason I had such a positive birthing experience at NCH. As a first-time mom, going through labor was a daunting event. Fiona immediately put me at ease with her calm and positive demeanor. She explained each step of the process, in due time, making me feel informed without being overwhelmed. She had a way of gaining my trust from the very beginning, giving me the confidence I needed to get through the process; I knew I was in good hands.
As my labor progressed, Fiona's knowledge, wisdom, and techniques really helped my body prepare for delivery. After all was said and done, I was so grateful to have her as my nurse and I felt like I couldn't have done it without her. During our time together she was a friend, teacher, coach, and cheerleader. This was such a special and unique experience for me, yet I realized that she does this multiple times a day, giving the same amazing care to each person that comes in. She is truly an asset to the nursing staff and will forever be part of my labor and delivery story.
