During my recent stay at LSMC, Nurse Gena provided a level of care that was far above that expected. She not only provided me with timely and accurate updates of my progress but also kept me well informed of when any blood draws would occur and other medical procedures that would be happening during the night. In addition to helping me during my stay, Gena kept my family updated, answered their questions, and allayed any fears they had. She proactively maintained contact with the various doctors involved in my care to ensure that they were current on my condition. In addition, she kept me appropriately informed of their decisions. Gena obviously cares deeply for her patients and consistently strives to demystify the hospital processes for her patients. LSMC is very fortunate to have a person such as her on staff.
