Lady of the Sea is proud to announce Gwen Douvillier, RN as the recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for 2012. The DAISY Award recognizes the extraordinary care and compassion provided by nurses. Gwen, a RN on the Medical Surgical Unit, was nominated by Marion Touro, our Patient Advocate. On her nomination, Marion wrote that patients often comment on how caring Gwen is, and her name comes up often when patients/families want to recognize staff. She has come in on her time off to visit with patients. When a patient who hadn't been eating asked for crabs, Gwen bought some, cooked and peeled them, and brought them for the patient to eat! She certainly makes a difference for her patients everyday!
