As I found myself in ICU with my longtime love L on life support, Hyacinth was my Angel, my lifeline, my support, my family. She was there every step of the way once we decided to donate L's organs. She had so much to do because of protocol for LifeLink in keeping my L's vitals up. She never wavered, never blinked an eye. She took such care of him like her own and made sure our needs were met. She was constantly working for L, not even taking breaks just thinking of us and L.
Hyacinth was so comforting with her words and hugs. LifeLink had a special ceremony to honor him by having a flag raising ceremony. She was there by our side (me and my sister) with her hand on me. She also assured me that she would go down with the surgeons during his organ donations. They also really honored him by all the staff and Doctors and Nurses lined the hallways as we wheeled him down to the OR. I was so proud of my L. There were people crying who also thanked us for his gifts and Hyacinth was there with us all and the support she has given me made this process so comforting. She will be my Angel on Earth. She called me to tell me it was over, and everything went well. God Bless Her.
I don't know how I would have gone through this without the care and concern of Nurse Hyacinth; like arms around me the whole time. She truly is an extraordinary DAISY Nurse. I know it wasn't easy for her and I never heard her complain or say she was tired.
