Jay is in a class of his own. He is compassionate, caring, kind, knowledgeable and one heck of a good person. I have been in the hospital a number of times since my transplant in 2016. Jay has been my primary nurse and I ask for him when I am admitted. One of my visits I was in isolation and after a few days I was very bored and had asked for a deck of cards, Jay was unable to find any, but the next day he came in with some. He had purchased them on his own and brought them to help with my boredom. At one point, it was decided that everyone that came in my room would need to be gowned and masked, and Jay was leaving for the day. He said he would have a surprise for me the next day. The next day he came in with a robot/alien sort of suit and had an air pack and hose. It was very funny and he even did a little modeling for me. On another occasion, Jay came in and I was in a bit of a mood, I was sad, frustrated, angry and I had tears. Jay stayed with me until I had talked everything out and until I could smile and laugh. He always listened and shared some of his story with me. He always explained everything so I could understand, Jay is a one of a kind person, he has a big heart, a lot of patience, and a great ability to communicate with others. I would say he is one of the best, no he is the best nurse I have had and I believe that all the nurses on the transplant unit can't be beat. Jay is a true DAISY Nurse.
