Jeremy demonstrated care that was out of the ordinary by not only remembering us from our stay 6 months ago, but by taking the time to get to know our son again. He learned his cries and his attitude and treated him accordingly to what he specifically needed. He learned how he reacted to specific drugs and which ones to avoid. He knew I wanted to participate in his nighttime routine and waited for me to be able to help him rather than just getting it done quickly and leaving the room for the night.
Jeremy demonstrated outstanding organization of care by briefing the nurses when taking a break or at shift change so they knew what to do when he was gone if my son woke or cried, what they would need or how to get him back to sleep, specifically how and where to shush and tap him to make him the most comfortable and get back to sleep. He made a special connection with us by talking about his familiarity of babies with Trisomy 21, knowing some of the things that make them special and how to handle specific circumstances regarding that.
Of the 44 days we spent inpatient at Seattle Children's total, Jeremy was by far the best nest maker there was. He should teach classes on how to make the nest beds for the kids to keep them comfortable and perfectly positioned. It seems silly, but I am not joking. It means a lot to me to have him positioned properly and comfortably in his bed. I feel like he truly cared for my son; he was professional, kind, compassionate, and cordial with us and treated my son as a baby he cared for, more than just a patient he was required to take vitals on every 2 hours. He wanted to make our son, and us, comfortable while we were there and did everything in his control to do so. We will forever remember the care he gave us during our stay there and we look forward to stopping by to say hi someday during a clinic appointment to show Jeremy how far our son has come since his surgery.
Jeremy gave us exceptional care, and we were blessed that our son was in his care for a short while there. I truly can't say enough about the amazing care we received from Jeremy and how thankful we were to be his patient. We have had a lot of nurses and Jeremy was the best.
