I came into the Emergency Room when I was 32 weeks pregnant and had started bleeding heavily. I was taken immediately to the triage area on Labor and Delivery where I met Jessica. I let her know that I had lost my first baby at 26 weeks and my second baby was delivered at 29 weeks. I don't know if I was speaking coherently but Jessica was calm and collected, she found my baby's heartbeat right away, which helped to calm me considerably. She explained everything that was going to happen and what she needed from me. Her calm and professional demeanor was exactly what I needed at that moment. My husband was rushing to the hospital to join me but thanks to Jessica I was able to call him and let him know that our daughter still had a heartbeat and was still with us. About an hour after arriving at the hospital, my daughter was born by emergency C-section. She will spend about a month in the NICU but is doing great! I will be forever grateful to Jessica for being such a caring and calming presence in the scariest moment of my life. Jessica may look at it as doing her job but the impact she has had on my family's life will last forever.
