My sister-in-law was in CCU in very critical condition. The day that Jessica Prebble came on shift she was so detailed. She asked the family to please give her some time to ensure all lines for meds were in order and she could make sure everything was set up and ready should anything turn for the worst; we were starting some meds that was a gamble to her life. Over the time we spent with Jessica, we learned more about her and how caring, compassionate and intelligent she was. She was always willing to answer our questions even if another family member had just been in to ask the same question.
It seemed like Jessica never left my sister-in-law's side while she was on shift. Her attention to detail was sharp and on point at all times. She knew my sister-in-law had two small kids so she called Chaplin to come and sit with her while she spoke to the family and kids and then helped me and their dad take them back to see their mom.
One morning, our family got the call that we needed to get to the hospital; that she didn't have long. Jessica came on shift that morning and picked up like she had not left. She got Child Life over to make hand prints, Chaplin for the family and allowed anyone in the room no matter what to make sure we had our time with her. When it was time for Comfort Care, Jessica spoke to all of us and then when it was time to say our goodbye, she was so compassionate. I could not have asked for a better nurse to be there for our family at this difficult time. Jessica, in our eyes, was OUR ANGEL guiding us through a very hard time. I don't have enough words to say thanks and show our gratitude for all that she did for our family. It was a difficult time but with Jessica, it was easier because she truly cared about her patient and the family. God gave Wesley a gift when she was hired to be one of the nurses in CCU. Thanks for everything!! God Bless Jessica for helping our family.
